Summary
This tutorial will guide you through the process of creating an Adobe account. You will need this account in order to sign in to and use your Adobe software.
NOTE: Ensure you have the Adobe software installed and accessible before creating your account. Please contact your IS department if you encounter any technical difficulties.
Steps
- Open your Adobe software. A windows will open prompting you to sign in to your Adobe account. Click the Get an Adobe ID link.
2. A new window will appear for you to enter your account information. Be sure to use your Butte County email address. Keep in mind, the Adobe account is separate from the one used to log in to your Butte County work computer. Once you have completed the form, click Sign Up.
NOTE: If you are prompted that there is already a Butte County log in ID created, then you will need to reset your password to access your account. See step 7 below.
3. Once you have created an account you will be able to sign in and user your Adobe software. Sign in to the account you have just created and accept the terms for the software license agreement.
4. You will be asked if you would like to use Adobe as your default application. Click Yes. This will open PDF document in an Adobe
5. A window will appear. Click change to choose a new default PDF application for your Windows machine.
6. In the screenshot below we can see that our current default PDF application is Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. For this example, we want to change our default PDF application to Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. Click your preferred application in the other options list then click Okay.
7. You are now ready to use your Adobe software. If you need to reset your Adobe account password, open your adobe software to the sign in window and click the blue Forgot Password button.
8. An internet window will open asking for your Adobe account ID. Type in your Butte County email address and click Next.
9. You will receive an email from Adobe in your Butte County inbox with a link to reset your password. Click the link to continue.
10. A new window will appear. Type in your new Adobe ID password then click Reset my Password. Once you have successfully reset your password you can log in to your Adobe software.
