Summary
This tutorial will guide you in sharing a file in the Microsoft Teams application. You can send multiple different file type such as Word docs, PDFs, Excel sheets, etc.
Steps
1. Open the Microsoft Teams desktop application.
2. Navigate to the User or Group you wish to send the file.
3. Open your chat box by selecting Reply or you can start a New conversation.
4. Next, locate the file you wish to share. This can be any location (folder, desktop, etc) of which you can click and drag from.
5. Drag the file you wish to share into the chat box and allow some time for the file to load.
6. Once the file has loaded into your group chat, click the Send icon in the bottom right of the window. You can upload multiple files at once.
7. After the file is sent other users will be able to click on the file name to open it and see its contents.
NOTE: You cannot upload folders, only files within those folders.
8. Another way to share a file within the Teams is by clicking the Paperclip icon within the chat window. This will allow you to attach a file. You will have to several search options to locate your file.
9. Once you have located the file or files you wish to upload, click Open to load them into the chat box.
10. Click Send in the bottom right corner of the chat window. Your files will now be viewable by the person or group you have shared to.
