Summary

This tutorial will guide you in locating and changing some of the general settings to customize Teams to suit your preferences. These settings can be changed at any time.

 

Steps

1. Open the Microsoft Teams desktop application and right click on the application icon at the bottom of your desktop. In this window you will see multiple options. Click on Settings to continue.

2. If you are a user who prefers a theme that is easier on the eyes, navigate to the General tab in the settings window. Within the Themes section you have the option to switch between three viewing modes; Default, Dark, and High Contrast. Pease check with your IS staff before changing settings within the Application, Language, or Display sections.


 

3. Within the privacy tab you have the options for Do not disturb, Blocked contacts, and Read receipts.


 

4. Within the Notifications tab you can manage the type of notifications you receive, from who, and how to receive them.


 

5. Within the Devices tab you can change your peripheral device settings (camera, microphone, speakers) and how they interact with the Teams application. If you are using Teams through a VPN, use the “remote” devices. 


 

6. Within the Calls tab are setting to manage your Call answering rules, Voicemail, Ringtones, and Accessibility.
