Summary

This tutorial will guide you in creating .tif documents from a .pdf and then combining multiple .tif files into a single file. A .tif file is another type of image file used within Butte County in certain departments.

 

Steps

Creating .tif documents in Adobe Acrobat DC

1. Locate your .pdf file then open it using Adobe Acrobat DC.

               

 

2. Next, navigate to the Tools tab in the top left corner of the Adobe window.

 

3. Now, navigate to and click on the Export PDF icon. You may also select Open to locate a .pdf file if you do not have one loaded into Adobe Acrobat DC.



 

4. Select Image then TIFF. After you have selected your export options, click Export.

 

5. Next, select the destination for your newly created .tif document to be saved. If you do not see the location you wish to save to, select the Choose a Different Folder button in the bottom right corner of the window. In this example will export our .tif file to the desktop.


6. A new window will appear. You may also change the file name and save destination in this window. Click Save to finalize the export.


7. You have successfully exported a .pdf document as a .tif image file.

 

 

Combining multiple .tif documents into one file

1. Open the IrfanView desktop application. In this example we are using version 4.57.

 

2. Click on the Options tab in the top left corner of your screen.

 

3. Next, select the Multipage Images option then click on Create Multipage TIF

  

4. A new window will appear. Next, we will locate .tif files you wish to import and combine into Irfanview. Select Add Images in the top right corner of the window.

 

5. Choose all of the .tif files you wish to combine, then select Open in the bottom right corner of the window.

 

6. Now that our files have been loaded into Irfanview, select Create TIF image to combine the individual files.

NOTE: Below you will see Save results file to folder section. In this example it shows that we are going to be saving the combines document to “C:\TEMP”. You will need to choose your own desired save location for the finalized .tiff document.


 

7. You will be notified when you file is complete. Navigate to your chosen save location to view your combines .tif document. It is now a multi-page single file.
