Summary
This tutorial will guide you in the steps to presenting a video during a Webex event. Attendees and Panelists will be able to watch this content within the Webex event window once the presenter has started the video. Call in users will not share the same experience. Only those who are using a desktop machine or the Webex phone application will be able to see content.
NOTE: Sharing video only works with video files you have downloaded to your machine. You cannot share your screen/application to play content as Webex will not play audio using any other method other than the one described in the steps below.
Steps
1. Locate a video file you wish to share and ensure it is easily accessible. You will need to search for this video within the Webex file explorer later. In this example we have saved our video file on our computer’s desktop.
2. Next, join a Webex event as a Panelist. We have done so in the example below as the Development Services host.
NOTE: Before sharing you will need to ask the host of the event to promote you to a presenter.
3. After the host has made you a presenter, navigate to the Share option near the top left corner of the Webex event window.
4. Now select File (including video).
5. A new window will appear. Use this file explorer to navigate to the location your video file is stored. Select the file you wish to share then click Open.
6. You will now see the video player presented within Webex. All members of the Webex event will now be able to see the video being shared. Click the Play button to begin playing content. You can pause, rewind, or skip to a particular section of any video.
7. To stop sharing your video, click the dropdown arrow at the top of the video player within Webex. Click the X next to your video’s name to exit the player.
