How to Fully Close the Skype for Business Application

Summary

This tutorial will guide you in fully closing the Skype for Business application on your Windows 10 machine. Selecting the “X” in the top right corner of the Skype window will only close the desktop view of the Skype application, however it will still be open and running in the background.

 

Steps


Method 1

1. From within the Skype application, click the dropdown arrow next to the gear icon.

2. Select File, and then click Exit. This will fully exit the skype Application.

Method 2


1. Navigate to the carrot (up-arrow) icon in the bottom right corner of your desktop.

2. Locate and right click on the Skype icon in the application tray, then click Exit.



Your Skype for Business application is now fully closed and will not continue to run in the background.
