Summary

This tutorial will guide you in editing your Staff Directory widget on the DDS web page. This widget persists through every sub site of the County’s web page. Because of this function, it must be edited using a different method than editing the page directly.

 

Steps

1. Log into the Civic Plus editor and locate the section of the widget you would like to edit. In this example, we will be updating the link for the holiday calendar near the bottom of the widget.

                                                                             

 

2. We will need a new document to point the link to. Upload the new document to Civic Plus’ document center. You will not need to upload documents if you are editing to an external link.

 

3. Navigate to Modules > Content > Document Center


Departments > Development Services > Add Document(s)

NOTE: Once you have uploaded your document, do not forget to publish the document so it will be viewable.

 

 

 

 

 

4. Once your document has been uploaded, you will need to copy the internal link associate with the document. To do this, select Actions > Copy Link option in the right column next to the document you uploaded.

 

5. Ensure you copy the correct for you site’s page or module content.

 

6. Now that we have the link, navigate to options near the top of your screen. Select Modeules > Staff Directory

7. Hover over Development Services, then select Rename/Properties.

 

8. Scroll down to the Brief Description section of the properties page. Then select the link to edit.

 

 

 

 

 

 

9. Replace the link with the one you copied from your newly uploaded document (or external link if applicable).

 

10. Once you have made your changes, select the Save option near the top right corner of this page.

 

Test this link to ensure you will be directed to the correct location.
